2nd Aviation Sustainability Summit
20 mei 2021 14:30 - 17:30
The aviation sector’s ambition to shape a sustainable future has been undimmed by the current crisis – but has been made significantly more challenging.
Following the publication of DESTINATION 2050 last February, which sets the path for the European aviation sector to achieve Net Zero CO2 emissions by 2050, the Summit will be looking at where the airport industry now stands on decarbonisation and what lies ahead for it to keep playing a leading role in sustainability – in the face of daunting odds.
This will involve reviewing Europe’s airports’ own commitment to Net Zero for CO2 emissions under their control as well as the role that airports can play beyond that – in facilitating and even enabling CO2 reductions by airlines and other business partners. Crucially, we will address the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial distress it involves are impacting their plans and related actions, as well as how policy makers and regulators need to step up to these challenges – by ensuring coherence and alignment. And we will also be examining what sustainable airports mean beyond carbon.
ACI EUROPE’s 2nd Aviation Sustainability Summit will deliver an unmissable afternoon of debate, exploration, and keynote addresses from the industry, partners and institutional leaders who are all striving towards a radically altered future.
Agenda and Registration details will follow shortly.
